  • All items bought with our SALE Promo Codes that are 25% off or more and anything in our SALE Categories are FINAL SALE and cannot be returned.  Also, see below under return information for specific items that cannot be returned.
  • We can only accept ONE coupon code per order.
  • Online purchases are not available for in store return or exchange.
  • Return items purchased online in original condition within 14 days for a full refund.  See below for our Returns Process.
  • Note that the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Orders cannot be changed, modified, or canceled after checkout.

SHIPPING

Our online store is open and shipping is FREE on all orders over $25! USPS is currently experiencing shipping delays that are out of our control but we always strive for fast shipping!

Note that USPS has announced: Priority Mail’s two and three day service commitments now will be extended to three and four days respectively- see link for more information:

Dear Prudence is not responsible for:

  • Delays with USPS or other shipping companies.
  • Products that are lost or damaged in the mail. The US Postal Service or UPS will be responsible once we ship the packages.
  • Products marked delivered by the Post Office. You will need to contact your local Post Office to obtain information regarding your package.

Our shipments include Tracking. If your tracking information confirms that the item has been delivered to your order address, but you have not received your order, please contact the carrier directly to investigate this issue. We cannot be held accountable for packages where tracking information states the package has been delivered to your order address. Carrier Contact Numbers: USPS: 1-800-275-8777

The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We recommend using a shipping method that provides a tracking number for your reference.

Wrong Address Disclaimer:

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure that she or he enters the shipping address correctly. We are not responsible if a package is shipped back to us due to an incorrect or undeliverable address. We do our best to speed up processing and shipping times, hence there is a very small time gap to cancel/change your order or to change the address of the order. If you decide to cancel your order or change your shipping address, please write to us at [email protected] as soon as you place your order. We will do our best to make the change, however we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.

Refused Shipments:

Refused shipments will be assessed a 25% restocking fee and all shipping charges. Please note we are not responsible or liable for the return, tracking down of, receipt or condition of refused shipments.

Note that items ordered together may not be shipped out on the same day or in the same package. You will be alerted in either instance and will be provided with an approximate date of shipment.

Any shipping delays will be communicated to you at the time of your order.

 

US SHIPPING ONLY

Domestic orders that are placed Monday thru Friday will be shipped within 24 hours of ordering, with occasional items taking 48 hours to process. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will ship out the following Monday (excluding holidays). 

Return items purchased online in original condition within 14 days for a full refund.


Online purchases are not available for in store return or exchange.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING We do not offer International Shipping at this time.

 

WEBSITE RETURN POLICY

The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We recommend using a shipping method that provides a tracking number for your reference.

If for any reason you do not love your purchase, return the item in its original condition within 14 days for a refund. Dear Prudence is not responsible for return postage fees and original shipping charges are non-refundable. Merchandise must be returned in the original condition (unworn, unwashed, unaltered) with tags attached. Online purchases are not available for in store return, exchange or credit.

We reserve the right to refuse any returns received 14 days after the post marked delivery date or if we determine that the merchandise does not qualify for a return.  If you would like to exchange an item, we suggest you place a new order for the item you want to ensure that it is in stock.

We will refund the cost of the returned merchandise back to you in the original form of payment.

Dear Prudence will notify you via email once your returned item has been processed.

Please note: we will not begin processing the refund until the product has arrived. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.  Please allow 1 week for your credit to be processed from the date we inspect it for return.

All returned items must still have the ORIGINAL TAGS on them.

Shoe boxes must be encased in another box for shipping to protect the items. If you send shoes back with stickers and return labels directly on the box, or if the shoe box is damaged, then we will not accept a return.  

Returned merchandise must be UNWORN and UNWASHED. Items that appear worn, have stains, or smell of cigarette smoke, deodorant, pet hairs or odors, etc. will not be accepted. If an item has been worn once, it will not qualify for a return.

RETURNS PROCESS

To initiate a return: 

  • Login to your account and find the order containing the item(s) you wish to return (“My orders” menu). If you ordered as a guest, you will need to create an account using the email address that you ordered with or email us for more information.
  • View the order and scroll to the bottom of the order and click “Return item(s)”
  • Enter the quantity of each item to be returned and enter a return reason, return action (choose refund) and enter a comment pertaining the issue with the item(s).
  • Click the send button (all previous fields must be completed). You will receive an email with shipping instructions once your return has been approved. This may take up to 24 hours.
  • Upon Dear Prudence receiving the return and processing it (up to 1 week), you will receive the following emails; a return status update, a credit card refund receipt, and a credit invoice.

Defects or Problems With Your Order?

If you have received an item with any problems or defects, please contact our warehouse at [email protected] within 3 DAYS to inform us of the issue. If we are not notified within 3 days of receiving the item, then it will no longer qualify for a return or replacement. You must include a photo of the damage / defect with your email.

We are not responsible for damages to clothing caused by improper care or handling, or incorrect sizing.

Exact colors of merchandise may vary due to photography lenses, indoor / outdoor lighting, and computer monitor resolutions. Clothing patterns may also vary. These situations do not qualify as defects and the buyer will pay return shipping if a return to our warehouse is attempted.

 

IN STORE RETURN POLICY (NOT applicable to online purchases)

All items with original tags attached may be returned for in-store credit or exchange within 14 days of purchase. The receipt must be present, no exceptions. In-store credit never expires.
